A 1/48 Defiant - but which one to go for?

Recommended Posts

Just starting my trip into this GB, but still wondering which Defiant to depict, as I have four 264 Squadron options and three from 141 Squadron. Or the one Defiant that flew with 264 on 29th May 1940 when the squadron claimed 37 enemy aircraft and later served in the Battle of Britain with 141. Choices, eh?

Base kit will be the 1/48 Airfix offering, to which I may add a Barracuda wheel set to. So, I'm off to clear the bench and build something for the first time in 28 months.

I find it odd that their are so many Defiant being build in the GB.

I think it's partly because it was a unique and quite good-looking aeroplane, and partly because there are now very nice kits for it in both the major scales :)

Cheers,

"major scale" for me is 32 nd and 24 th.

I'm hoping Airfix will do 24 th one day.

But I would be more than pleased for one in 32 nd too.

There is a resin kit in 32 nd.But that's a dragon of a kit.

Being build on LSP in the BoB group build...
