John R
The first Avro 707A first appeared painted 'pink' before being re-painted red. Does anybody know what colour 'pink' was? I have seen it decribed as 'Salmon pink'. John

Dave Swindell
Nice photo @bentwaters81tfw, but it shows Blue (707B VX790) Orange (707A WZ736) and Red (707A WD280) WD280 was painted pink before being repainted red 144th.co.uk does a kit of the 707A and illustrates some of the colour schemes the wore, including the Pink, this is their take on it @John R, I'd call that more "blancmange" pink than "salmon pink" and right or wrong is what I'd picture it as. John R
Thank you. It looks revolting. I wonder what made them choose it? No wonder it was changed. John
Welkin
My first summer camp after I joined the A.T.C. in 1967 was to RAF Colerne where a number of historic aircraft were in storage and amongst them were two of the Avro 707s. I can't remember which ones - they were painted in HSS, as I recall. I did have some old B&W photographs, but goodness knows what has happened to those!
