Reini78
#18/2020 And now for something completely different... Being usually an aircraft builder and doing from time to time some armour, this is my dad´s first car model since 30 years. The last one he built was this same Heller kit, now he gave it a new try. Built oob without any scratchbuilding or improving. The kit is not that bad, but some parts were warped, that´s why it doesn´t stand on all four. Had to cut away some parts of the engine to make other parts fit, therefore the hood is closed. Painted with an altered Tamiya Sky Blue. A pity there aren´t any modern kits of these classic race cars from the 30ies and 50ies. Mr Mansfield
Love these 50s Grand Prix cars, I think you can get an Alfa Romeo from the same year too. Very clean build. I think if I was to build one of these, I would consider aftermarket wheels though

But they are rather basic kits and show their age. 13 hours ago, Coors54 said: To pinch a line from the Italian Job, "Preeety car!" nearsightedjohn
Beautiful clean job on this classic racer. I’ve never been a fan of injection molded wire wheels but yours look very good on this build. I think painting them a natural full metal/ grey and not polished aluminum or chrome really helps.

Some are expensive, but you can get phot-etch wheels from a few places. Although @Reini78 has done a great job here
