Phill318
Here is my Liberator GR Mk.V, BZ796, flown by P/O Oldřich Doležal, No. 311 Squadron, Beaulieu, Great Britain, December 1943. Built from Eduard's Riders in the Sky 1944 rebox of the Hasegawa kit. Went together really well and I enjoyed doing an aircraft type and scale that I don't normally build. It is part 2 of 4 (planned) in my New Forest Airfields Project. Hope you enjoy. Jeff G
Fantastic looking Liberator, especially with a Coastal Command flavour.
Grey Beema
Lovely job. Fantastic finish, well done. I have a Great Uncle by marriage, Ernest Barge, who was unfortunately killed when 53 Sqn GRV BZ817/L crashed on take off from Beauieu, 15.11.43. All eight of the crew were killed.

Sluffer77
That is very nice. I’ve not read up about Liberators and Coastal Command, so please excuse my ignorance, but what are the rails on the Stubs under the front of the aircraft?

Plain and simple rocket projectile launch rails, as also seen on Mosquitos, Beaufighters and Typhoons amongst others. Sluffer77
Just now, stever219 said: Plain and short mole rocket projectile launch rails, as also seen on Mosquitos, Beaufighters and Typhoons amongst others. Thank you Steve. I’ve seen Mosquitos and Typhoons fitted with Rocket rails, didn’t know they fitted them to other airframes.

Would you believe that they were also earmarked for the Shackleton, and one actually flew with them as a trial installation, but they were never adopted for Service use on that type.
stevehnz
A wonderful Liberator indeed. Nice to see the rocket rails, to my mind, this, gives the Lib some real menace, your build catches this beautifully. Steve.
Dunny
Beautiful finish and attention to detail - congratulations! I'm sorely tempted by this kit but it does have quite a steep price tag locally...
kapam
Brilliant work! The weathering and staining is nicely done. Inspires me to have a go at the Hasegawa B-24J kit in my stash.
