SAT69
Beautiful Mustangs and a beautifully displayed collection. I like that you have two figures among the airplanes to give an idea of the size of the planes.
diamant
Quote Wow, I mean wow. What a project. What a display cabinet. Explain more? Well, this is just a part of our collection. My father, Raul Hrubisko, and I have a goal behing these models. Our intention is to build All the aircraft types that flew with the Royal Air Force, the Fleet Air Arm and all the Commonwealth (Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Rhodesia, etc.) in the time frame between 1936 and 1947, in all major versions (including field modifications, different or special markings, different armaments, different scheme colour camouflage, etc.) which were used in all the operational theatres or in special operations. And to include also Lend-Lease and captured enemy types under British markings. We also try to include in each series the aircraft which were flown by Ango Argentine pilots, most of them had very particular nose arts” This is a photo of our display cabinets and this is a summary of our collection and stash. GRAPHIC 1. This is a detailed summary of the collection. (*) When I mention the country Its refers to the country who developed and built the aircraft. Finished: Models done. To rebuild: models done by my father many years ago and there must be done again with the new standar. To build: kits in our stash You have also a detail about which type of kit we used. My father has made 44 models per year as an average during the latest 15 years. In others words, he made a model every 8,3 days during the latest 5.475 days.  My little contribution has been doing all the reaserch behind that models. We are a great team and we really have fun doing it. We have many friends (historians, modellers, etc) around the world (Canada, UK, SouthAfrica, New Zeland, Australia, Rhothesia, Argentina, etc) who has been helping us during all these years to achieved this result. Withouth they supports it would not been possible to do this. GRAPHIC 3: This is the summary of the collection. I hope this help you to understand a bit more about our insame . ColFord
Hi Santiago, Interesting project, lots of modelling work ahead of you. I hope that you have had a look at a number of the threads here on Britmodeller that have set out some of the detail of the various Mustangs you are planning on modelling, including this very long thread about the Mustang Mk.I/Mk.IA. Note this thread does include detail on some of the small differences between the early Mustang Mk.I, including differences between the NA-73 (AG Serials) and NA-83 (AL, AM, AP Serials) Mustang Mk.I and then onto the Mk.IA. Note, FD serial is Mustang Mk.IA, and there are a couple of threads here on Britmodeler also covering off some details of this version of the Mustang. In relation to some of your subjects: Mustang Mk.IA FD535 'X' No.268 Squadron RAF, early 1945 Gilze-Rijen. Had left/right oblique camera mounts behind cockpit and vertical camera in rear fuselage just ahead of tail wheel. Mustang Mk.II FR908 'S' No.268 Squadron RAF, April 1945, B106 Twenthe. Had left/right oblique camera mounts behind cockpit and vertical camera in rear fuselage just ahead of tail wheel. Mustang Mk.II FR915 'L' No.268 Squadron RAF, 15 December 1944, Gilze-Rijen. Had left/right oblique camera mounts behind cockpit and vertical camera in rear fuselage just ahead of tail wheel. Will be following how your build project goes.
