Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer S.2C No. 809 NAS - Larger Pictures added.

Recommended Posts

Hi There,

I bought this at Scale Scotland Murrayfield last year and have been scared stiff to cut the wings ever since.

I finally stuck my courage to the sticking place and got on with it.

This one is a little personal as the home base for 809 NAS was HMS Fulmar and as it's close to Dingwall this makes her one of mine.

Primed with UMP Grey

Painted with Colourcoats Extra Dark Sea Grey, Light Aircraft Grey and Light Admiralty Grey, AK Xtreme Metals Aluminium, Lifecolor Dark Admiralty Grey, Tamiya Rubber Black and Desert Yellow.

Washed with Citadel Nuln Oil and Flory Dark Dirt.

Finished with Windsor & Newton Satin Varnish.

I really enjoyed this one but didn't plan it very well, when I build the next one it will be better.

As always,

Thanks for looking and all comments and criticism are welcome.

Cheers,

Alistair

Lovely job. I was too scared to fold them on mine so top marks for yours 👍👍 Cracking paint job.

Thanks very much.

I can't take all the credit for the paint job as most of the plaudits have to go to Colourcoats as it's very easy to lay down and even an idiot like me can achieve a reasonable result.

Cheers,

Alistair

Absolutely gorgeous! Looks the part with those wings folded and airbrakes open. Very nice colours too.

Thanks very much. The Airbrakes were so beautifully rendered it would have been a crime not to show it.

Alistair

Well done!  A beautiful build and the wing fold looks excellent! 👍👍

Thanks very much.

it's a great kit and the surgery on the wings was nowhere near as scary as I thought it was going to be.

Cheers,

Alistair
