Main decals are on.

Then putting some stencils. The stencil guide did not really match with the model - different panel lines etc. So I just put some of them. I'm not too keen on stencils in 1/72 in the first place, they tend to stand out too much.

Decals done and picked off some of the maintenance hatches with duraluminium. Next, a coat of satin varnish and weathering!

Good idea 🙂 ... don't we have a designated chef in Nordic II?

Alright, this is how the MiG looks after a Vallejo Satin coat. I'm going for dull metal look, that seems to be the case with MiGs.

Flory Models Dark Dirt wash is on.

I was bit worried that the Flory Models wash would bite too much to the somewhat rough satin surface, but on the other hand I was hoping of little bit staining in order to get a used dulled down look. This is the result after wiping off the excess wash, came out OK I think. Now, gluing down all the small bits and rest of the weathering!

Standing on it's own legs and received some minor weathering in the form of MiG Streaking Effects.

Master pitot tubes are on, saved these to the very last so they don't get bent & twisted. Just beautiful things, I want to get these to all my models 😍

And we are done! :) The green MiG is the Airfix MiG-17F I did in the summer, now she doesn't have to sit alone in the model cabinet :)

I will post pics to the gallery when I get around to do some more photos - in the meanwhile, thanks for checking this build out and participating, I'll see you in my other MiG builds (of which there are still plenty left! :P

That turned out swell.

And I absolutely agree w/ you on the Masters pitots.  It's almost a shoe-in add on for any model if they are available.  Cheap and make a noticeable impact on the finished product.....especially the little stuff.

What a fantastic result.

Your Mig-17 looks absolutely fantastic, the metallic finish has just the right used look about it rather than being overly shiny and the Master pitots do look really nice and make a big difference to the finished look of the model. She looks great next to your equally good looking Airfix camouflaged one.

Very well done.
