Im going to follow if you don't mind. Thank you by the way, I didn't even know there was a kit of these available
Andwil
This should be good, great subject choice, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a model of one of these before. AW
JagRigger
OK - most of my model making takes place as whiling away hours in the office / hangar waiting for my daughter to finish at her various after school clubs. So, in tonight's window I've made a start on the cockpit, and removed these rather prominent ejector marks from the fuselage interior. Office monster has already eaten one collective so had to fashion a replacement !
JOCKNEY
Really interesting choice, i thought the only kit of this was a vacform one, which i believe is a bit of a shocker ! Look forward to seeing you bring this one to life cheers Pat
Jabba
A weird and wonderful machine. A good start to the build.
modelling minion
This is a great looking helicopter and not one that you see being built very often. Very interested to see how it goes together.
JagRigger
Assembled the sponsons / engine pods last night. I'd thought long and hard about whether I should attempt to open these up with engines and 'proper' mesh, but couldn't get enough info, so as I said at the beginning have gone for OOB. These brought home to me the limited run nature of the kit.....
desert falcon
An interesting choice of helicopter, good luck with the rest of the build!
JagRigger
Forgive me for I have strayed from the path of OOB.... The kit offers the option of cutting out the cargo door, so that'll mean a floor, frames, seats...…….. what have I started !
JagRigger
Looking into it, I rather like the nose closed as the lowered ramp and open doors detract from the overall look of the aircraft. So... I'll just need to detail what is visible through the door. Start duly made
modelling minion
So much for OOTB then! The detailing door has been opened. Its going to look fantastic when done though.
JagRigger
Almost enough 'spoof' detail to look the part
Pete in Lincs
Yep, nice interior and a very interesting Helicopter. I really must have a search and read a history of these things.
Jabba
Some very good work to get that interior looking that well.
JOCKNEY
Straying from OOTB, well thats most unexpected 🤣 The detail you have added makes that extra effort really worth while 👍 cheers Pat
JagRigger
Big bits glued ! Sat next to my now backburner HH-3 for comparison. Flight-deck can slot in later - saves getting it dust covered during the filling and sanding !
AdrianMF
Very interesting and new-to-me subject. I love your scratch built interior, looks very convincing with the placards! Regards, Adrian
modelling minion
That is really nice work on the cabin interior it looks great. Good to see it taking it's unique shape too, a great looking helicopter.
Jabba
Good to see it altogether and next to something that I know roughly the size of to see just how big it actually is.
Col.
Tidy work creating that interior detail Although I suspect as much skill and patience was required to get the kit parts together.
JagRigger
Quick dust of colour to show any areas needing more attention
JagRigger
One (counting how many times I knock that tailplane off ) It really IS just held by the two struts and doesn't touch the pylon Edited September 23, 2020 by JagRigger
modelling minion
That really is looking very nice indeed. That tailplane is a very flimsy set up, I would probably have lost it by now!
