Eduard Butcher Bird

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

This is my Eduard Fw 190A-8, the newest moulding, built OOB from the Profipack boxing except for soem Albion Alloys brass tubing for the outer gun barrels. The model was built for the Journey's End GB.

The model depicts blue 4 from 12/JG5 based in Norway in the spring of 1945.

Painted with Mr Color paints and weathered with a Flory Models dark dirt wash and oils. This is cracking kit for anyone wanting a stress free quick build definately give this one a thought.

If I was ever to try my hand at a Wurger, that's exactly how I'd like mine to turn out- what a brilliant model. Superb build and finish.

Lovely 190 you have there, if I could point one thing out I don't think the spinner wall all blue on this aircraft. None the less still a really excellent build. 👍

Thanks Walter. That’s interesting, I just went with Eduards instructions. I won’t change it now but any clues as to what it may have been.

James I was just researching this plane I'll have to go back and check my sources. Will let you know. Such a minor point I wouldn't change it either.

edit: The spinner was primarily rlm70 then blue at the base only so the white stripe demarks the blue and the rlm70 so by the time the stripe gets to the 3rd propeller blade its no longer blue, the top 2/3rd's of the spinner is white and rlm70. I hope that makes sense.

Here's one interpretation

Focke-Wulf-Fw-190A8-IV.JG5-Blue-8-named-

and another

Actually I stand corrected, I think yours is correct for blue 4. Blue 8 was slightly different.
