Old joke

A tourist couple are visiting Italy when they catch sight of a submarine tied up alongside the wharf.

Curious, they wandered over to a sailor lounging nearby and asked; "Is that a U-boat?"

To which the sailor replies: "No, she'sa belong the deh Gove'ment."

(I apologize in advance to any Italians I may offend )

It's a fair cop, but society is to blame.

As a reward for your confession, here are some pictures to show the progress to date.

The floats are on! Also a small ladder for refuels can be seen. And I've fitted a pressure refuel point on the other side of the fuselage.

Here under the wingtips we have some aerials/sensors. They were meant to be small scale ship guns.

Under the nose is this little gizmo. Another sensor/camera? thingummy/wossname.

And, due to transatlantic pressure, (ahem!) what could well be a MAD boom. Though it's intended purpose was as a torpedo!

I've fitted a tank bit on the end here for the sensor. Some cleaning up of joints is needed, but overall we are nearly there.

I think I've settled on a paint scheme and I've found some decals I want to use. So things are heading towards a close.

Oh yes, It needs a name. I'm partial to Sea Dragon, Seedrachen in German, which is the usual language choice for kreiger names.

Thanks for looking in and keep the comments coming, One day I'll get a build up to the size and sillyness standards of @Martian.

Cheers, Pete

Not to nitpick (he said, nitpicking frantically) but Drachen is plural, so it would be Seedrache.

I was tempted to suggest "Teicheidechse" but that just means 'Pond Lizard'....

Ahem. Sorry.

As usual Mr Pete, you are an inspiration.

So, submarine?:dog:

So, submarine?

Seedrache it is then. Ta.

Submarine you say? I'm not even sure if the kreiger world has ships. Though I've built two.

Would they need to go underwater? So far as I know it's all about resources and defending your territory.

It's certainly something to think about. My next build (should) probably be a long stalled Falke scratchbuild.

I've had the donor P-38 for well over a year now. Too many other projects keep popping into my head!

Cheers, Pete

Well, other than mowing the lawns I had a free(ish) day so paint got applied.

Being Acrylic it dried rather quickly so it was followed by a spray of semi gloss clear and decals!

I painted the bombs and belly tank so tomorrow its matt clear and load up the pylons.

Then straight to RFI. (Do not collect 200 pounds).

Thanks for looking in. Pete

Oh, alright then, a couple more pics before the RFI. I wanted to show the penguins.

A sort of water jet powered torpedo. The yellow nose is for guidance.

Not paint rollers! Tube and guitar wire steps for easier cockpit access.

And now it's RFI time. See you there. Thanks, Pete

But have you checked that it will actually float Pete?

Well it floats my boat. Another very enjoyable build.

Anyway, Matron says bathtime isn't until the weekend.
