KMS
Hi all)) My name is Misha) About 3 years ago I found "delicious" plane. Many questions arose in my head. Almost nothing is known about the plane. But.... who seeks, will always find. Main view Engine Oerlikon 50hp I made the first drawing of the engine PS to be continued Edited August 9, 2020 by KMS
clive_t
Hi Misha, this looks a very interesting project - I love anything to do with the earliest days of flight, so I will be following your progress on this
HOUSTON
Hello Misha, Whoa... this is going to be an exciting build thread to follow as I too love early flight aircrafts and their intricate, sometimes quirky designs. I am SO loking forward to your build. NEAT drawing Misha good luck but I dont think you will need it. HOUSTON.

pheonix
This is truly exciting. I too am a fan of the little known, early or just plain strange early types of flying machine. You clearly do not have much to work with, but are making a first class effort to unravel the mysteries of the type. What scale are you building this in? I will be following with great interest. This is a very important aircraft. In 1911, there was a world exhibition in St. Petersburg (the same as in Le-Bourget, France). Gakkel V (1911) - the first in world seaplane without floats an wing. "Usines Russe-Baltiques" had two factories in Riga and St. Petersburg. Sikorsky worked at the plant in St. Petersburg. He built "Ilya Muromets" and "Russky Vityaz". Kudashev worked at the plant in Riga. He built "Kudashev IV" These two people are from Ukraine. Gakkel from Russia. Professor Kudashev was Sikorsky's teacher at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. Sikorsky is exactly the one who created helicopters and airplanes in the United States. He emigrated to the United States during the communist revolution 1917. The communists wanted to shoot Sikorsky because he was friends with the emperor of Russia (Nicholas II). The emperor presented Sikorsky a gold watch. PS Long ago I found the Oerlikon engine. This is for the Grangean-3 aircraft (Switzerland replica). The engine was also used for Hungarian monoplane "DEHAN Dieterle Schwalbe" Engine (version No. 2) Edited September 10, 2020 by KMS

dov
This is a wonderful research! I admire it, me, I am mechanical engineer. You are one of the seldom-found modeler, with a good packing of knowledge to develop a real model. Congratulation & welcome! KMS
Shake up the virtual room and rearrange the furniture. The height of the chairs and their position on the podium will help determine the dimensions for the length of the aircraft. Virtual projection of chairs (orange) will help see the "square" for measurement. Administration)))) sorry but i love music)))) 2
pheonix
Watching you use this software to determine size etc is fascinating. I wish that I had these IT skills and the programme to match!
KMS
It is geometry and stereometry. I was taught this at institute. You don't need a program to see the space 3D. Everything you see, I draw on a sheet in the program CorelDraw. Simple lines and their vector form a plane and virtual space in your head. All dimensions this is analytic geometry. ...software in my mind)))) Edited November 9, 2020 by KMS 3

Bangseat
OK I'm in! Great project...are you going to scratchbuild the old fashioned way? I'm fascinated at how you are deriving dimensions from the picture. Stereometry - will i need a doctorate to understand? 🤪 Thanks also for Wintergaten, that is genius...

Anyone who wants to build the right airplane can use this blueprint. )))))...but in scratchbuild this plane I want much more!!)))) Revell once made wonderful sets. Now started releasing Meng in the same style. This is style "Grotesque caricature"))))))) And I think my Gakkel will be in this style)))) It's a lot of fun, but also ..very hard. 3 hours ago, Bangseat said: will i need a doctorate to understand? 🤪 No))) just look))
HOUSTON
PHENOMENAL workmanship KMS. your hunger for details is incredibly IMPRESSIVE. You are doing a FANTASTIC job. Drawings and dimensions and research is excellent. p. s. not into such heavy music but each to their own.
