Hi again

With the recent arrival of the 'Royal' liveried A330 Voyager ZZ336 to 10/101 Sqn at Brize, I thought it was time for a photo report on some of the other special schemes and anniversary markings the RAF AAR/AT fleet has worn in recent years.

A photo essay on Brize would not be complete without a VC10! Here's VC10 C.1K XR808 'Bob' wearing the special scheme to commemorate 50 years of VC10 service and 95 years of 101 Sqn, in 2012.

Hope these have been of interest. C&C always welcome.

Mark

My favourite ATC Summer Camp was Brize, as it was the most section visits we had on a camp. My two favourites were the morning spent in the station armoury stripping and cleaning an almost endless number of Sterling SMG's, Browning pistols, SA-80's (and its cadet friendly derivative the L-98), LSW's and a couple of GPMG's. The other was the morning spent with the RAF Police touring round all the un-manned outlying sites (ISTR they were mostly radio/radar/nav-aid related?) connected with/parented by Brize and making sure they were all still secure.

Spent 3 very sedate hours doing circuits and bumps in XR808 as well. Just checked my 3822 and turns out it was 27 years ago! Now feeling rather old.....

Mark.
