Howard Moon
Good afternoon all, I’m working my way through a Classic Airframes Hudson and need some help with the turret. I’ve already given up with the one that comes with the kit and have pinched one from my Revell Ventura which is far better in profile. However, one thing they both have in common is the total lack of interior detail. Does anybody have any interior photos or diagrams they would be prepared to share? I’m aware there is a restored one at the Yorkshire Air Museum but a trip up there isn’t convenient at the moment. Best regards Howard
72modeler
These were the best links I had in my archives. Perhaps our @Selwyn might have interior references? Hope the links are helpful. Wish I had more interior views....you know how it goes- very few photographers ever considered taking pictures that modelers would die for 70 years later! rossm
A good reference is British Aircraft Armament: RAF Gun Turrets from 1914 to the Present Day by R.Wallace Clark. Sadly long out of print but maybe a library could find a copy? I'll hopefully be reunited with my copy soon and will try to remember to scan anything relevant. Alternatively @John Aero may have drawings. PS - just found a Flight article from 1943 with a cutaway drawing, PM me an email address and I'll send it over.
John Aero
I do have a set of factory drawings for the C type but they are massive. I have some smaller copies and I've scanned them and if Photobucket will let me in tomorrow I'll try and share them. John

That's a great photo and very helpful Chris. I've been after Vol 1 for a while. I've got vol 2 and it is very useful. Thanks to all of you for your help! best regards Howard
John Aero
These are the reduced drawings. This is a dorsal turret, Hudson/ Halifax, the lower illustration by dogsbody is a nose (Halifax) turret, note the pivot bearing on the top and it's slightly narrower.
