Lightningboy2000 Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 My eleventh build of the year comes in the shape of this German Air Force WTD.61 Sukhoi Su-22 M4 30918 98+14. This was known as the official "Last Flight Su-22" which had its service life extended in order for its last flight to RAF Scampton where it currently resides. 1/72 Bilek/Italeri kit. Pavla cockpit & Canopy. Airwaves etch. Scale Aircraft Conversions landing gear. Armory resin wheels. Master brass pitot probes & gun barrels Hi Decal & Propagteam decals. Ammo Mig, Hataka & Vallejo acrylics. Also many thanks to Andre "Hook" for the Aphid missiles & rails. Thanks for looking! Martin 47
SAT69 Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Great looking model! I've always thought the SU-22 was a good looking airplane. You've done justice to the original. 1

billn53 Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 That looks great! And in gentlemen's scale, too! I thought at first it must be 1/48. 1
luftmodels Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 That is some sexy camo! 😮 Wow! Never knew about existence of such pattern. I think you nailed it! 👏🏻 1
Vultures1 Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 That's a great result from the Bilek/Italeri Su-22 and the finish is superb - well done! 1
John_W Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Very nice. I do like Soviet types in Luftwaffe markings. 1

stevehnz Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Lovely job & a great scheme. The East German camo is very attractive to my mind, you have caught it well. Steve. 1
exdraken Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Very nice result! This jet wad extensively tested by the Luftwaffe as far as I understand! Does it still exist in this scheme? 1

I ordered a paint set for the Su-22 assuming they were correct, but obviously found they were only for anything East of the old Iron Curtain. Martin 1

Does it still exist in this scheme? Thanks exdraken. I've got the Airdoc reference for the these German Su's & yes there's a few images of it testing different missiles. It is still at Scampton Lincolnshire with Hawker Hunter Aviation in these markings. I've been told that it & their Buccaneer is in very good condition. Martin 2
