Some lovely machines there @Alpha Delta 210thanks for posting, is that a DH90 Dragonfly?  Ooooooooo that is gorgeous.  Can I ask what the small blue and silver aircraft is not the Moth but the one with the 5 cylinder radial engine please? What an interesting looking machine.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chis.

Thanks very much for the kind words. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the pictures.

G-AEDU is, as you rightly say, a De Havilland DH90A Dragonfly https://shippingandairlines.co.uk/historic-aircraft/dragonfly/

G-ABNT is a Civilian Aircraft Civilian Coupé https://shippingandairlines.co.uk/historic-aircraft/civilian-coupe/

I had never seen the Civilian Coupé before, but I have had the pleasure of seeing the beautiful Dragonfly at Old Warden.

I hope you don't mind me butting in .........

It's the only surviving Civilian Aircraft Company Coupé. One of only five built - the 1929 vintage Coupé still flies on a 100hp 5-cylinder radial engine.

I took these during a visit to North Weald in 2014.....

Thanks guys that's very interesting and I will check out the video links later on as busy lugging lots of heavy stuff around whilst sorting out the garage, in the heat it's fun, I do like to punish myself!!!

That is a gorgeous looking plane and has scratch building potential, maybe one day.  I will save the photos and info for future reference once I become better at that sort of thing.

Thanks again both of you, that is brilliant.

You're welcome Chris. The videos are well worth watching and will be a great way to cool down with a long drink after your labours!

Haven't seen Spitfire MT928 for a while. Where has it been?

In repair since she had her prop strike the ground during takeoff (BoB show 2019).

I will have to take a look at them, I am really taken with the Coupe.  It would be great if there is a model of it.

Chris

When the Coupé taxied towards me, I must confess that I thought it was a home-built, so it was interesting to read the history and take the virtual flight!

When I saw the photos in your thread I thought it was a homemade machine.

I love the flight video and the layout of the cockpit with its initially simple layout along with controls over the pilot's right shoulder.  I will have another watch today hopefully.

It's a cracking little Aircraft.

We were obviously on the same page!

I also love the simplicity of the cockpit.

I really enjoyed the videos of the other aircraft in the collection as well.

Yes that is such s lovely looking little plane,  I would love to be able to scratch build one but don't think I am skilled enough yet.  Managed to get a Vacform kit yesterday and was hoping to get an Airframe DH90 on the bay that I was watching however, circumstances prevailed and I didn't get to bid! I have now put up a wanted thread on here to see if I can purchase or trade one. I didn't get a chance to watch one today as working on the house today so will have to try again tomorrow as spare time tonight will be modelling time as I never seem to get enough bench time!!! Will be cracking on with a DH60C and a Seahawk want to get them completed as am itching to start a FRADU Hunter.

Ooo might get a chance to watch when everyone has gone to bed as will be able to watch one uninterrupted then.

All the best

Chris

Yes I would love to go but things still busy at the moment.  I will need to seek council with the domestic authority as depends whether she will be working that day, she is on a double shift today and so won't get to speak until she gets home at around 2200 hrs.

Thanks

Chris
