This kit is really fighting me tooth and claw. Let me explain. I managed to straighten up the ailerons, yay!!! But forgot to take a picture. Boo!! Then moved onto the flaps and UC. Pretty straight forward. and the UC parts. Just need a tidy. The wheels look lovely. I decided to move onto the engines and cowling. The nibs got removed and tidied. Then after some light dry brushing on the engines they got stuck down. Next the cowl. Can you see the error?? Hmmmmmm🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😖😖😖😖🤬🤬🤬 That’s right not only have I glued the exhaust on backwards I have glued the intake backwards too. Oh and painted it to add insult to injury. 🥳 you can’t make this up. Try as I might to prise three parts of they wouldn’t come so I had to chop them off. I glued the pipes on the other way but these remnants also had to be removed otherwise the cowl wouldn’t fit. After that was done I did a dry fit. Oh my. It didn’t even try and not look like a big stick on panel. As I have now just seen in the starting picture it actually is a big stick on panel. 😮😖😩 so any way before seeing that I filled the gaps with PPP at least I think the top isn’t split in two so it’s not all time wasted. Surely it’s not like this? I couldn’t figure out how I was going to mask it all again after the CrAzy so I stick on the outer ring. I can fill that with sponge and mask the rest. At least it’s only PPP I can wipe it away tomorrow and get the lower lines back. 🙌 one step forward and all that. oh by the way, saw this fly over on Saturday. Any ideas? Right I needs some sleep. Thanks for looking in. Hope you all had a great weekend. More soon. Johnny Lovely, that is an Avro Anson. Wish I hadn't sold my Classic Airframes kits now... Cheers, Chris 1
CedB
Ouch. Looks like you've sorted it now though Johnny - great perseverance and looking good now That sighting you had? Looking at the tailplane I reckon it's an Anson? There was one based at Coventry when the Classic Air Force was about. G-VROE was flying about near you at the weekend?
Spookytooth
He`s human!!!! He`s human... He makes mistakes.... At least you were able to rectify them before it was too late John. I did similar on the Defiant I am building, I put the pilots bulkhead on the wrong way round LOL Stay safe. Simon.
Lewis95
If its any consolation, I'm getting a crash course in fuselage alignment problems and sanding PPP... Looks like a good rescue though bud!
alt-92
Catching up again - good save with that cowling. (Lots of stuff stored as potential pitfalls btw) And a lovely paint job on the sand & spinach to boot 11 hours ago, AdrianMF said: Modern Airfix kit cowlings are a pain in the btm, but you probably don’t need me to tell you that... The Spadgent
Good evening you lot. Couldn’t sleep so I figured I’d do a quick update. Turret time. 🤩 more tiny PE on the gun after a clean up. The clear parts got masked and I decided to use fluid to meals the insides as it worked so well on the Sioux. The cowls tidied up a treat and they are now ready for paint again. That’s it for the update. Hopefully some time over the weekend. I did do more on the Horton though. 😉 Also this arrived in the post. I had accumulated some vouchers at Jadlam models and this seemed like a bit of a bargain. I’d been watching @Marklo’s build and I just had to build a Hind. I know about the office and the lack of rivets at this scale but the challenge just makes it more fun right. It’s a lovely kit though, not a lot or any one building it that I can find? 🤔 next build I think. 🤤 Thanks for popping in. Hope you’re all keeping well. Johnny. 👻

The Spadgent
Hey!!! Extra hour tomorrow sooooo. 🤔 Early night tonight so I can get some more bench time. Autumn is here and tis log choppin’ time. 🪓 More things to keep me away from the bench. 🤪 I did great some time today though. here is the Turret PE I missed from last time. With all the little bits ready I did a pre shade. The turret transparency got an internal coat. A similar colour was to go on the flap internals so some @giemme style masking. Not too different to the sky but it’s different enough. 🙌🤩 The flaps got internal and external paint as did the UC doors. Sky on the cowls. Again. Can’t not see the Chinese mask at this angle. 👹 The UC got a blast of grey. And the mid gunners seat got a base coat. all this and yellow tips too. I had to put the brakes on as the kids wanted to carve the pumpkins. So this is where it halted till tomorrow. Thanks for dropping in. hope you’re having a great weekend. Look something spooky that’s not the canopy on this thing. That’s a point. Airfix still haven’t got back to me. 🤔🤔 now that’s service. 😬🤫😳 Johnny

The Spadgent
It’s Ben the longest loveliest lazy Sunday ever. Plenty of bench time, dinner cooked and even got a spooky movie in. 🙌😱🎃😀 Enough of that, let’s get to the god stuff eh. 😇 turret seat painted. Does this have belts? The props go through the motions. Masked. Sprayed. Aaaand done. 🥳 The cowls got masked. Blue tac worms for brown and green. And a top coat. Metallics next for these. 🙌 While I was at it the clear parts got painted. Decals next. 😀 doesn’t seem like a lot bit there are another three kits that need attention. Thanks for dropping by. Hope you all are having a great lazy weekend too. corsaircorp
Hey Spad !! This Airfix Blenheim seem to be a Tarheel fighter.... Mmmmh That spark my interest on this one... Am I going to start another kit ??? Nothing is impossible to me Or will I wait to finish a kit or two before Blenheimizing ?? Great job and great save John !! That will be another great add !! Can't wait to see the Hind going on, even if , at first, I was thinking about a Hawker one !! A Batcopter and Rambo's ennemy on their way together !! What's not to love about ??? Sincerely.
