Brandy
Wow, what a palaver. Still, it's getting there and I'm getting tips for when I build my MkI nightfighter. Ian
Lewis95
I've got to ask buddy... How do you get your croco clips to stay on the toothpicks? Mine wobble all over the place and I blame you because you made it look so straightforward.... Model looks good though 1

Don’t forget, if there is a canopy catastrophe basking under the masking you can always make a tarpaulin to throw over it... Ced doesn’t have that option when they are flying across the ceiling! Regards, Adrian ooh now that’s a good plan. Thanks . 🤩 10 hours ago, Hamden said: Nice to see the paint going on! One small observation if I may the ailerons should be one up and one down usually only a slight deflection each way. Stay safe Roger Really? Ok I’ll pop some TET after paint and try and loosen them up a bit. Thanks for the heads up. 9 hours ago, Edge said: They did the same with their Beaufighter - what a faff! When I buy mine the ends are folded out ready to be clamped so I pop a cocktail stick in place and squeeze them on with some small pliers. 1 hour ago, dogsbody said: Just the little nib. I'm going to get to the bench this morning and try that! Blenheim looking smart too, as usual. Now that the boy has been introduced to Terminator you'll be able to ride out the awkward teenage years with the addition of the classic phrase… 'Tidy your room if you want to live' 'Put your 'phone down, if you want to live' Etcetera. Of course you need to straighten your back and stand straight. Red eyes help too. Thanks Ced. I’m going to pop over and e how you got on. Thanks for the Terminator tips. Classic dad stuff, amazing. 🙌🧐
VT Red Sox Fan
Johnny, coming along nicely! I really like how you sorted out the canopy frame issue. What was the paint ratio you used for the underside? It looks smashing! Also found the reference photos great--where did you find them (sorry if I missed info in earlier posts)... really enjoying this build! Tamiya sky. XF 21 thinned 1:1 with Tamiya thinners. Thin coats. Not sure which pics but the ones here are posted by others. Darned useful though. The Spadgent
Mojo running high I got some more painting done on the builds. The underside got masked. (Decided not to gloss first 🤞) Earth first. I free handed the pattern in thin coats. Another two passes and she looked good to go. 👌 And tother side. That got left to dry before the blu tac worms got popped around. Now it’s time for the ggrreeeenn. A few more light coats. And more drying time. Not able to wait the masking had to come off. 🥳😛 Really happy with the soft lines and the details are coming through just I’d hoped. It’s been a while since I took a shot of tape. Lots tonight. 😍 super happy now!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Thanks for popping in. Hope you like Ze painting. Take care out there and as always. Happy modelling. Johnny free hand. 🤓
Hamden
This is what I was trying to explain in my earlier post, I've just put this in for clarity. Blenhiem looks superb (as we all knew it would) with its war paint applied, the end is in site now Stay safe Roger

Might just straighten them? Thoughts. 🧐🤔

Hamden
I would be inclined to just move one aileron so as to minimise the chance of damage. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Stay safe Roger

My original comment was referring to the 3-part engine cowlings being a faff to put together - hadn't realised that there were also some spurious/non-Blenheim lumps & bumps to remove. Apologies for any confusion. Great work Johnny! Edge 2

This kit is really fighting me tooth and claw. Let me explain. I managed to straighten up the ailerons, yay!!! But forgot to take a picture. Boo!! Then moved onto the flaps and UC. Pretty straight forward. and the UC parts. Just need a tidy. The wheels look lovely. I decided to move onto the engines and cowling. The nibs got removed and tidied. Then after some light dry brushing on the engines they got stuck down. Next the cowl. Can you see the error?? Hmmmmmm🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😖😖😖😖🤬🤬🤬 That’s right not only have I glued the exhaust on backwards I have glued the intake backwards too. Oh and painted it to add insult to injury. 🥳 you can’t make this up. Try as I might to prise three parts of they wouldn’t come so I had to chop them off. I glued the pipes on the other way but these remnants also had to be removed otherwise the cowl wouldn’t fit. After that was done I did a dry fit. Oh my. It didn’t even try and not look like a big stick on panel. As I have now just seen in the starting picture it actually is a big stick on panel. 😮😖😩 so any way before seeing that I filled the gaps with PPP at least I think the top isn’t split in two so it’s not all time wasted. Surely it’s not like this? I couldn’t figure out how I was going to mask it all again after the CrAzy so I stick on the outer ring. I can fill that with sponge and mask the rest. At least it’s only PPP I can wipe it away tomorrow and get the lower lines back. 🙌 one step forward and all that. oh by the way, saw this fly over on Saturday. Any ideas? Right I needs some sleep. Thanks for looking in. Hope you all had a great weekend. More soon. Johnny

Chris Isn’t it just. 🤪🤣🤣 I think the square bits on one side of the cowl are hinges. So I have this morning before work cleaned out the pop from the lower two joints and sanded back the top so it’s flush. Once again all is good with the world. 🤞🌎🌈
