The two largest hurdles have been cleared, the fuselage and floats are completed and successfully printed first time (all the lessons learned from the 1/48 kit have helped greatly).

My plan is to complete this print and, if I'm happy, I'll upload a few photos of the complete kit. Once that's done, I'll be ready to sell a few :) I'm not going to make any more once these are done!

On the list; @Anthony in NZ @seiran01 and @iang

Not too much longer now!

1/32 Update

Main span of the wings (upper and lowers) are complete, that leaves only two more prints to go until the main airframe is complete. Wing tips and vertical tail are on print now (they will be done tomorrow afternoon) then that just leaves the wing centres an horizontal tail - they probably won't be on print until Friday afternoon, I've run out of resin and I'm waiting for more!

After that, it's only the detail parts left, struts, cockpit, GSE, seat, etc - I might have all this done by the end of the weekend.

Just the wing centres and horizontal tail to go now on the main airframe.

I've run out of resin but hopefully some more should be arriving tomorrow!

An overnight print will see the last of the main airframe complete by Saturday morning, then it's just the detail parts left, that should be no more than two or three prints.

Fingers crossed it will be done by Sunday evening.

Windscreens printed and vacformed.

I now have 5 "orders" for the IIIF in 1/32 therefore I will not be taking any further "orders" for quite a while (if you've already commented with interest, I've got you down for one) as I wish to focus on my Chipmunk and Avro Anson in the new year.

I will reconsider selling more of these in both 1/48 and 1/32 in a few months.

That looks tremendous. You get my vote for 2020 innovative model producer!!

Now perhaps I could point out that the world really needs a 1/32 Dornier 17, yes really!

I wish you every success with your great project for the Fairey.

I am too...in fact truly lost for words!

I know I asked you to do this and I feel bad it was such a mission for you, but my word you have excelled yourself...I will forever be in your debt as this is one of my favorite planes and will look great with the HpH Walrus when I get to that one.

Thanks again, you are a legend!

All done!

The cockpit hasn't printed perfectly (it should be ok once removed from the supports and cleaned up), so I'm printing another tonight, which will replace this one, assuming it prints better...

I'll double check everything after work tomorrow, but that's the first 1/32 kit complete!

@Anthony in NZ, you asked for the 1/32 kit first so this ones yours :) It weighs about 600 grams, I've just weighed the complete parcel, it comes in just under 1kg, so postage to NZ will be a further £22 Im afraid!

Cheers

It is just fantastic to see the 1/32 kit printed. It is majestic. I have been pottering away at the 1/48 kit and it goes together well.

Unfortunately my resin hasn't even been dispatched yet so I've only been printing the smaller parts.

Unfortunately, my printers screen also finally gave up tonight, so I've had a few failed prints.

Im now running way behind getting these models printed, it should be only a few weeks until they are all complete.

Any interest in just selling the model file like they do on some of these 3d model sites?

I have been thinking about that.

It's obviously going to get to the point where I won't be printing certain models (such as this fairey in 1/48) but I don't know much about how those sites work!

So I've replaced the LCD screen and it's all working fine (after a quick test I had to adjust the build plate level).

However, after printing the wing centres, there was another failure due to the FEP film being old. More FEP film on order, hopefully I'll have things up and running tomorrow.

Still no news about the resin I ordered....

Oh no, I am feeling really bad.....

Sorry that 1/32 monster of a kit soaked up so much time and resin...

Not at all, you paid for it! It has to be expensive to cover things like spare parts etc. I bought the new screen a month ago when it first started playing up anyway!

I've had 3 months of printing about 18 hours a day, so it's done between 1500 and 2000 hours of printing. The reliability has been, quite frankly, amazing. Given that it is only a couple hundred pounds for the printer.

The printer technology we have now is incredible and vastly better than it was 5 years - just imagine where we'll be in 5 years. It also allows novices like me to make overlooked aircraft types.

Thanks!  And it sounds like your printer is quite the little soldier!

Yes the technology has changed our world.  We might even see one of these in 1/48 or 1/32??  Ugly as anything but super interesting.  Apparently the 1/72 MikroMir kit was a great seller...who would have thought LOL

I think the immediate postwar British civil aviation industry specialised in producing ugly utility aircraft!

I'd like to do a DH Comet in 1/48 but my printer isn't big enough. If sales from Chipmunk go well, I might buy a bigger printer :)
