Morning guys hope you’re having a lovely weekend?

small progress.

She’s ready for paint. ❤️

She’s too tiny for the clips so I used cocktail sticks only usually employed for wheels.
primer!! 🙌😯

50258141167_9b448f9cd2_b.jpg

And I know I’m mad but dare I say.

pre-shade.

50258141157_519bdf28e5_b.jpg

Just trying to get some variation.

50258141152_5a02e4043f_b.jpg

I think it’s worked. 🙌 not sure of the colour as there are actually no call out so the instructions???? What the?

Here’s the prop.

I’ll have a look for schemes.

any ideas?  Motelling will be frowned upon. 🤣 thanks for dropping by.

all the best and Happy Modelling.

Nice work so far.

As for paint - you can have it in any colour so long as its green!

Although there are some variations including a darker green in Chinese service and some camo schemes for post-civil-war Spanish examples.

I don't think the Soviets went in for motelling but some would have carried a patchy winter camo I'm sure.

They mostly seem to be grey underneath, medium green upper surfaces. I bought a set of Chinese markings for mine just to do something a little different.

Thanks. I’ve seen quite a few with blue bottoms. Ooh errr. 💙

  • 3 weeks later...

Quite inspiring. These 1/144 scale models seem to be quite the trick for a time-barren modeller! Once I clear the current 2 builds, I may just have a look at some 1/144 kits.

On a side note, these little beggars are sods to dogfight against in IL-2. Always able to outmanouver my 109 and usually shoot me down! Deceptive but cool aircraft.

Yes such a tiny build. It’s the only kit I have at this size. I might have to get some more. 🤔

I don’t believe that for a minute. You could put this together blindfold. 🧐

She will get sprayed over the weekend, I promise. 😇

Hope you all had a great weekend.

As promised this little bird is the only kit I’m working on that actually got colour.

Even though I forgot to mask. 🙈

50368378733_550681c45a_b.jpg

So before I could begin I had to mask off the belly.

For scale my thumb. 🤣

50369082021_e99ca6f060_b.jpg

even though it looks easy I had to mask the tiny curved demarcation line.

First pass.

50369244382_9784e45ddb_b.jpg

And then another one and she’s done. 🤩

50369081991_001e45e94c_b.jpg

The masking has been removed and she has been gloss coated ready for pilot paint and decals. 😇❤️ More soon.

Take care chums.

Johnny boy.

On with the little blighter. Only one pic big it’s a lovely one to share. The masking came off and a top coat went on. Next stop decals, clear parts. (Part)🤣 and a pilot needs a paintin’

Like a juicy apple ain’t she. 🥰😍

more soon. 🤩

The kit looks excellent even if doesn’t like the 144th scale. But you’re nailed it and now this little bird is amazing. 👏 My grandfather used flew them in the Flight School back in the 40s.

Wow! How cool is that. I never met my Grandfathers. You are indeed a lucky gent. Thanks by the way.

I happened to open the box of my I-16 a few days ago and even in 1/48th it’s twinchy. I’d be seriously worried about inhaling yours :)

I know. I just painted the pilot. 👨‍🎨😱
