Probably more so than in the movie. 😱 19 hours ago, opus999 said: I read this too quick and thought it said "the guns were a blast", which seemed like a bad pun. Good to see a little progress. The Spadgent
Good evening you lot. A little more done today. A flory wash and some light a Tamiya weather washes on the insides. The rear jet parts got added and a wash was done here too. The front jets got assembled. and the rear. The metal tubes will be visible from the cockpit. (Just) I can mask these before the external paint phase. 🤩 The guns got a light metal pass. And added to the frame work. You will just about be able to see them through the main wheel well. The main bulk of the office got a Flory and a light weather wash. then a dry fit was done. Not bad. 🤩. the decal got added to the IP. If you’re going to build this kit be aware that the decals are THICK! Micro sol wouldn’t touch them. I had to bring out the BIG guns. ”Daco Strong”😱😱 eventually it submitted and I gave it a full coat and picked out the dials with Krystal Klear. They will go clear. Hopefully. 🤔 I re purposed some 1:48 belts by cutting them in two. this then got added to the office. As did everything else. Time for close up. Peeeeeeeeeeeeggggggsssss!😇😇😇 while this was going on today I. Luke then help but notice something was slightly different. Then I saw. Don, don, donnnnnnn. Looks like the left side of my lamp has eventually given up. Not bad for about four years constant use. I’ll order another. more tomorrow. Thanks for dropping by. Happy Modelling . I do wish they were flawless. The instructions are a bit vague as to where the frame at the back of the IP goes. I put it too high so I couldn’t get the bloomin’ canopy on. 😑 On 9/5/2020 at 1:21 PM, CedB said: I agree with Giorgio - great internals! The Spadgent
A little more on the horten. If you are following this to build one of your very own don’t follow exactly what I did on the frame just behind the IP. I positioned mine so the little triangle bit was just proud of the IP top. This has it happens stops the canopy fitting. 😧 luckily it was easily popped off and surgery was done to fit the offending part correctly. So in the end the canopy was fitted. The gators grip will fade when dry. Just gotta get the wings internals painted so I can put everything together. So off to the paint chamber with you. 🤓 more soooooon. Thanks for popping by. opus999
Looking good! I love those drybrushed guns! After all this time modelling I still can't get the hang of drybrushing. I get it to work after a fashion, but not looking as nice as this!
Lewis95
Gah! I'm running late! The Horten looks stunning buddy! Any ideas as to the final paint scheme you'll be attempting? Also, a cheeky favour, could someone please pop me a link to the Sea Venom* build thread? I seem to of misplaced it.... 😂😂
Dandie Dinmont
This is looking great Johnny. I especially like the skull behind the canopy between the jet nozzles, fits in well with the theme of the multi-build! Craig.

The Spadgent
Hey guys. Sorry for the delay in updates. I went camping with Milo last weekend so no modelling. Work is putting the breaks on it during g the week. I did manage a little today and hopefully I’ll get more time over the weekend, 😇 The canopy got masked. And a jig was made to hold the whole thing in place while the wings were glued. Don’t worry I painted the wrong innards before sticking in place. Now dry I masked the various holes in the bottom. (Ooh matron) 🤣 I also masked the intake and jet parts with tubes of paper and foam. A little sanding on the seams but I need to get her in the booth to see what else needs fixing. Not much by the looks of it. 🤩 more over the weekend. Johnny.

The Spadgent
As promised work was done over the weekend. Not loads done on the Horton as there are many other builds seeking attention. There she is at the back. I sprayed the canopy RLM grey to coat the inside of the canopy. Stupidly I forgot to take a pic. 🙈 after that has dried (not long) some primer was added to pick out the troubles. And there they are. Not many but I will have to fix some of the bigger seams with PPP and then sand before A bit of a re scribe. More soon. 🙃 Johnny

The Spadgent
@giemme was right. A little bit of PPP and the daylight was gone. 👌 I popped some more primer on. Looking smooth. But I really wanted her to look a bit...you know....... more rivets. so out with the Mr Surfacer and a cocktail stick. 🤩 That’s better. Kinda more The way I wanted her to look. And on the under side. Almost time for actual paint. 👌👨🎨 Thanks for having a look over here. All comments welcome. Johnny 🛸

Horrifying!!!!!! Nice work! 3
