The Spadgent
Welcome through... This is a multi thread build To return to the House of Horrors Enter Here. DOOR 1 Horton Go 229 1:72 Revell Horrifying!!!!!!!!! Welcome through door one dear friends, inside we have the Horton Go 229. I have loved the Aeroplane from the first moment I saw it. its a Bonkers looking thing that deserves some attention. I will be building mostly OOB. ( mostly ) we will see how it goes. I'll start the thread with box and tree shots. The bench is clear!! This side opening box had had its head ripped open to expose its contents. 😵 inside we have four trees. three opaque and one clear. Some instructions and some decals. The model looks really nice and crisp. The main fuselage? with bits and bobs. and the wings / wing. Not sure which scheme but I do know it will have custard on it. ☀️ Here are the deals and instructions. Looks like a lovely little kit. Can't wait to get my teeth in into it. Hope you're all having a splendid week. The Doctor. 👨🔬
Johnny Tip
If you do it with extended landing gear, this will really be horrifying! Otherwise really nice to build, from the time Revell moved into more modern ages of moulding. biting nails, Johnny
Qel
I've always been interested in this strange aircraft, hopefully you'll do a better job of this kit than I did! so I'll watch with interest. I chose to go with landing gear down as I had no pilot figure, this proved to be quite delicate to piece together with plenty of swearing involved but I think it turned out ok considering. That large red dash walk line decal was also a pain to fit properly but that's probably more due to my inexperience than anything. Quiet Mike
This curious aircraft is on my wish list of kits, even though jets are a little outside my area of interest. I'm going to enjoy this thread! (And I'm hoping it's available in 1:48 🤞)

Glad to have you all along for the ride.

bar side
I have this kit half built in a box in the garage. I moved up to 1/48 as I was struggling with the size of the parts. Must finish it one day, so all tips gratefully received

The Spadgent
Hello fiends. This bonkers bat like creature is the first kit I will start. 🦇 The Cockpit is the first part to be built. Lovely little side struts cleaned and added. The little seat is actually nicely detailed but I may add scratch belts too 🤔 The IP is a decal. I might add some discs. Hmmmm OOB . 😂 ( onwards ) Intakes built. These look like little rockets but it’s more jet action. 😇 I’m jumping about a bit on the old instructions. Next up is the lower fuselage. This frame gets added. I love the Internal framing going on. 😍 this bit I figured out is a piece of the tree. Only after cleaning it up thinking it was an oxygen tank or something. 🤪😂🤣 The actual detail on this kit is amazing. The guns need to be built next. Cleaned and built. Lots of crisp detail. Putting this all together I can’t help but think it will all be lost when buttoned up. The guns are just a dry fit for now but I’ll pop the halves together to see how and what you will see. The guns get attached to those pegs so you might see the less detailed side? What even? 😬 I’ll see how that goes. I do know However that this ‘Orrible set of pin marks will be seen. instead of sanding and scratching I took the easy option and blanked it off with plasticard. As you can see in the background I also started on the UC. A little delicate with silly tree parts in the oddest places. Chopped base tidy and glue. pretty good! The light this morning was ace. 🤗 I could build this kit all day but there are others and that’s the point right. I’ll pack this lot away. And move onto another kit. oooh exciting. Thanks for popping in. Hope you’re having fun and a great weekend. Comments welcome and as always. Happy Modelling. Johnny.
billn53
Excellent progress! It looks like a very nice kit, and substantially more affordable than the ZM offering.

bar side
I went to look in the garage to see how far I got with mine. Turns out I was further along than I thought. I think I stopped because I hadn’t got any paint to match the RLM colours. The temptation is to go with the box colours and do Humbrol 163 / 27 top and get a pale blue for the underside 6

The Spadgent
Sorry for the delay in progress guys. I have been spending what little time I have between work on the other builds in “The House Of Horrors” I will endeavour to get some more of this done today. Yesterday I primed. I’ll get more paint in later on today. Thanks for following along. Johnny. 😇

I couldn’t quite make out? That’s just masking tape covering the cockpit internals while she got her primer coat. I don’t tend to fix the canopy & mask it, but paint it separately & fit it at the end. Must order some paint
