Andrew.S
Hello there! It's been a while since I posted here something and that's because I've been at the Scouts summer camp. Three weeks in the countryside without electricity, tap water and walls around me. And without the plastic models! So I decided to grab this kit first as it laid on the top of the "Maybe" stack from the other time. I am very inspired by the @Moa build which is above: At first, I started with the tail, then moved straight for the cockpit and when the cockpit was curing, I worked on the wings. Current state is: fuselage halves glued together, tail parts ready to paint and wings ready for the Surfacer. Let's see the photos Have a nice day! Andrew.S
Thank you mates! There wasn't any progress due to my trip to the beautiful Scotland. After treking 96 miles on the West Highland Way, I came back to carry on with my builds! There is just a minor step of sanding the fuselage and filling the sinks and gaps. Cheers! Andrew.S
Yesterday was really productive day. The fuselage was sanded, Surfacer 500 applied and then panel lines rescribed. I made a few details (fuel cap, rivets, screws) and then I glued the wings and fuselage together. Today I hopefully finish the work on the surface and start painting.

Andrew.S
Yesterday I started painting. First came black surfacer then polishing and after that metalic colours. I wanted to try a new Alclad/Ammo Mig series so I painted the nose with airframe aluminium and the rest of the fuselage will be duraluminium. I used aluminium dope (Agama red line) with a touch of C8 silver on the wings and tail surfaces. Today I will finish painting and maybe there will be time left for the gloss varnish. Andrew.S
And the fuselage is painted I also managed to airbrush the Super Clear varnish yesterday and now it's decals turn. I hope they'd be good.
Andrew.S
Today's progress is one of the greatest of the whole build. I applied the decals (I have to say they surprised me - good job Decograph, very good job indeed!), then Tamiya panel liner, semi gloss varnish and then tail surfaces put together with the fuselage. I also painted the walkway, cockpit leather rim, glued elevator struts and tail control cords. A lot of work for today... Engine is still waiting for scratch though. Hope you like it Very thin layer of varnish makes the decal one of the best on the market (Decograph) Tail struts:

billn53
That looks great. You’ve mentioned a couple of varnishes (Super Clear and semi-gloss). Can you give more info on those? I’m a sucker for trying new paints.
Andrew.S
Thanks mates! Super Clear by Gunze is the best gloss varnish I have ever tried. Semi gloss clear is acrylic Tamia. I also use acrylic Tamiya matt varnish. I really recommend those.
