Popular Post Cherny
Started in march, in the beggining of Corona lockdown. Heavily modified, all improvements were inspired by excellent article by Carmel J. Attard at Seawings. In short, I completely reworked the engines and cowlings, rescribed the entire model, opened the cockpit and scratch built the interior, scratch built turret and dome, reworked the nose glazing, scratch built the entire beaching gear. All gun barrels were replaced by medical needles. I also scratched the pitot tubes and fuel dump pipes. Painted with Gunze RLM65 and Extra dark Sea Gray. Finished with AK Satin varnish. Stars are from spares, and the large number is from kit decals. All in all, I'm pleased with the result, it's not Trumpeter, but it's good enough for me. JWM
You made a great result with a lot of improvements starting with this poor kit - so it is more "by Cherny" then "by VEB" ... Regards J-W

Pin
Great! JFYI, "VEB" is not a name of the producer but a form of ownership in East Germany - "Volkseigener Betrieb", literally "enterprise owned by people", just like LLC, Inc., GmbH, OY, AB etc etc etc. The name of manufacturer is VEB Plasticart or simply Plasticart. Still a great Beriev, very well done!

Graeme H
Once owned this kit and several times dug it out to contemplate it, but sold it on, that you took it this level is simply outstanding

bianfuxia
wow! Great build of an awesome plane. I have this kit and you've inspired me to give it a go (just after I bought the Amodel kit in 1/144 too, haha). I saw one of these at the Beijing aircraft museum, they really are cool. great model, well done!
JOCKNEY
These kits are amazing value for money, given the size of the finished aircraft, you should be on commission ! Outstanding work, congratulations Cheers Pat

Cherny
Thanks Slavi! Yes, I completely scratchbuilt the landing gear. I used leftover wheels from Plasticart tu-20.

Bjorn
Amazing! Love this old VEB kits, and know very well how much work they need to look proper. Fantastic work!
TonyW
That's a quite amazing build from a rather basic kit. Well done indeed. The cockpit looks amazing. The real plane looks like the love child of a B24 Liberator and a Supermarine Walrus.... Well it does to me at any rate. Tony.
