TANK63
I purchased a kit of a GR1 by Airfix which sparked the interest in doing a collection of Harriers. Also purchased a GR3 and the sea Harriers will be next. However how do I model a GR5 and is their a GR7 ? I know Airfix do a GR9. I not that knowledgeable in regards to Harriers. PhantomBigStu
They did. the previous tool in the 90's comes with parts for a gr5 and is boxed as such https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-04038-harrier-gr5--122339
Giorgio N
The GR.7 is easy, just use the Airfix GR.9 with the lerx of your chosen aircraft. The same kit can be converted into a GR.5 cutting the nose and replacing with a suitable part: the nose from the older Airfix kit will work and Quickboost does a part for the Hasegawa kit. Or just buy the Hasegawa GR.
TANK63
Thanks for the info. Revell do a GR5 is this a rebox of the Hasegawa kit and is it a decent model? Edited August 1, 2020 by TANK63
Giorgio N
IIRC Revell's GR.5 is a rebox of the Italeri kit, not a great ore. Revell's GR.7 however is the Hasegawa kit. This is much nicer, Airfix's is better but this not bad

Hook
6 hours ago, Giorgio N said: Or just buy the Hasegawa GR.5 Hasegawa's GR.5 is an AB-8B with a GR.5 nose stuck on, missing the belly and wingtip fittings of the real thing. I plan on using an old Airfix GR.5 nose on an Airfix GR.9. Cheers, Andre
