1/48 Airfix DH.82A Tiger Moth RAAF

Recommended Posts

If I wanted to find a positive out of this crappy situation it's getting more bench time.

Another finished for 2020

1/48 Airfix De havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth - 25 Sqn RAAF Cunderdin WA.

The build is pretty much out of the box with some seatbelts from Eduard and EZY Line rigging.  Decals are from Southern Sky Models and the paint is the new Trainer Yellow from SMS Paints.

Lovely kit and I'm happy to have a 1/48 Tiggy in my cabinet after a long wait.

Beautiful build. For me, painting yellow can be as much a challenge as painting white, so your paint work is very impressive. Love the rigging and the way your model is displayed. That's a model that will get a lot of favorable attention, even from folks who aren't crazy about airplanes.

Lovely Tiggie Andrew and I love the aircraft you`ve chosen to depict,...... I`ve had my eyes on that one too but wasn`t aware of any decals!

All the best

Beautiful job!  I admire your ability to get a good looking yellow finish, it has been one of those colors that has given me fits.  And the rigging is perfect. I really need to break down and add the Tiger Moth to my stash.

That’s top shelf modelling Andrew and you’ve nailed every aspect of this great build. You also haven’t helped me choose a scheme for my kit as I (at first) wasn’t thinking yellow, however this build is a stunning result. Good to hear the SMS paint went on well, really need to try some of their paints.

Cheers and very well modelled.. Dave
