Tamiya KV-1

Recommended Posts

Hey there, I decided to stop here now and call it finished, don´t want to overdo it.

This is the Tamiya KV-1 1/16th scale full option kit. Painted with Acrylics and oils. Enamel, Pigments and oil washes for the dirt on the hull and the wheels and AK weathering pencils up top. Got the ABER detail set and one or two other detail kits by ABER or Schumo.

Tracks are a bit tight as the adjustment is rather rough for the idler and the track runs better a bit tighter than too loose.

Thanks for watching.

That is tremendous, the larger scale gives so much scope for improvement.

The extra detail really enhances the beast and the paintwork and weathering are exemplary.

Brilliant work and as DA said, "now that is nice".

Cheers

@Das Abteilung @Jasper dog @M3talpig @vaoinas

Thank you for your comments. I am actually really happy how this one turned out considering how plain and boring it is out of the box. What I like most though is the engine startup sound. But that is something you can’t picture unfortunately. ;)

Great job. I pity the Panzer III crew who  dares to  invade  your  flowerbed. Always liked the KV.

Glad that I don´t own a Panzer III to have them two battle it out in that flowerbed. But I will post a picture once I have one of my Panthers over here. Also for the size comparison.

Nice one. I love those patriotic messages

That one was quite nice, so I took it. The other was not exactly to my taste.

Very nicely done!

Thank you very much :)

I don´t know if I posted this already. This is a sound sample that I posted on youtube a few weeks ago before this was finished. But it shows what it sounds like rambeling around in the garden. Now also with the serious look to it.

KV1 sounds like serious business

Hey there, I wanted to share a few pics of the comparison Panther vs. KV-1. This really shows the difference in tank engineering between nations and also considering the time difference. When the KV-1 was introduces, German AT tanks had 5cm guns at best.

The Panther is a work in progress a heavily modified Taigen/HengLong model.

Spot on 👍

I particularly like the spots of dirt / rust on the storage boxes.

My favourite soviet tank. Did the 1/35 tamiya back in the day.

We'll done 👏

Thx APA. It is the little details that add to the overall look.
