Popular Post Lightpainter
Hi fellow modellers, I just finished my third build after coming back to the hobby after an absence of more than 10 years. It also counts as a Covid build since we were in quarantine for a long time… I had to pause the build when we got infected with Covid in april, Its what they call mild infection but we were pretty sick.. my wife is a nurse and she got it at work. Three weeks ago I got to go back to hospital because I got memory problems and its a good chance that it was Covid related… took me out again for some time… modelling is what kept me going in between sick periods. But now I am better and was able to finish the build. Sorry its another Tamiya P-38F.. but I hope you like it! SAT69
Has an excellent "battle worn" look to it. Really like the detail, especially in the cockpit.
roginoz
Love it !! You've got a fantastic finish on your canopy - any clues to getting it so clear ? Rog
kapam
An incredibly realistic P-38 replica! If not for modern CGI, work like yours would be suitable for effects in a WWII movie! 😮😮

Indeed we are better but infection rate is climbing rapidly here. I work at home and wil continue to build more models, modelling is the best hobby for these times.
Work In Progress
It's beautifully done. Surely you mean 1/48 rather than 1/32 as in your subject header?

IvanVasili
Just an impressive model here! I absolutely loved it, the weathering in general and how you have worn-out the wingroots near the cockpit. I also want to say "get well soon" and hope you fully recover. 1

Rog Thank you! It was so clear in the box, you just need to keep it clear... So I used masks from an early moment and kept it on till the last!

There were 3 different Olive drab paints used and two gray ones. I used a lot of oil paints, Pastel powder, weathering pencils and some Ushi metal powders here and there. Sky Keg
Most importantly, we are all elated that you have returned to good health. Covid-19 is certainly nothing to mess with. Your Lightning is superb and looks great. PS : Try not to take so long between projects. 😉 Mike 1
