Does anyone know exactly how the track guards should fit on the Mirage Vickers Light Tank/T-26?

Like the real tank they have a "common" chassis hence the solution applies to both.

Those familiar with the kits will know that the track guards run down the full length of the tank.

The instructions state to remove any rivet detail that gets in the way.

Where I have a problem with these models is that if the side frames are perfectly flat, when you fit them to the front end of the frames you end up with a 1/2mm step.
I'm sure the inside edges should actually be flush which would mean that you would need to cut a step down a good length of the track guard where it meats the main tank body, that way a flush fit at the front is possible.

Yes that helps. Though it's not the later model I cannot see them changing the track guard attachments.
Besides Mirage do an early version of the T26 similar to this and no doubt it has the same chassis since the Vickers 6-ton tank has the same parts and that was an earlier design.

The overall part fit in the kit must be a compromise. As there are common parts but different upper sections, cutting a recess in the track guards would work for some models of T26/ Vickers Light tank but not for others, and it would be expensive making a separate die for each one...my only problem is that its going to be a pain to nibble off a 1/2 mm edge to get a flush fit with the side frames at the front!
