Airfixs big Hellcat

Recommended Posts

Airfix 1/24 Hellcat.  This is a big beast.  I used a mask set to do the marking, resin wheels, eduard PE seatbelt and various bits from Anyz models (sparkplugs, pipe connector joints and braided wire).  I used the new book from Valiant Wings to open up and add extra details (wiring and scratch made junction boxes) to the area behind the cockpit and radio bay.  Also added a couple of strip lights so taht the details can be seen.

I also added extra pipework and wiring to the engine compartment.  Chipping achieved using the MIg Ammo heaving chipping fluid.

Gorgeous job,..... I`ve started mine but keep putting it back in the box,.....it is quite imposing.

Love your Tiffy too,

Cheers

Thanks guys. Went a bit more restrained on the chipping compared to my worn out corsair. First time using a grimy engine wash which I used inbetween the engine panels (due to the fit not being great) and was really pleased with the the result. I started the build 2 months ago and have worked almost exclusively on it.
