MiG E-152M Modelsvit 1/72

Recommended Posts

The last of the E-150 series set several airspeed records under the 'E166' designation. It suffered many of the same problems with engines, radar and aerodynamics as its predecessors and was unable to provide a stable launching platform for its missiles.

It was cancelled in 1962 when the USSR decided ro rely on missiles for defence rather than a/c.

Not the easiest kit to build. The jetpipe, cockpit and intake just don't fit into the fuselage. I would recommend dry fitting all those components before assembling them as trying to fit them after assembly resulted in much frustration and bad language when trying to close the fuselage halves. The grey missile is a dummy and the white, the live test vehicle.

I'd think those missiles would have put an adverse load on the wingtips of the real plane. Your model is very well done. Nice to see prototypes in model form.
