steve5
I wish I hadn't been so tight and got the full PE kit , but all things considered , these catapults aren't just too bad . still got a bit of sanding to do .
armored76
The catapult looks good to me. I don't think many would notice the PE here, anyway.
steve5
this might seem a bit of a silly question , but I was looking at the hull , contemplating the paint scheme , when I thought , does the black water line go above the red or below the grey . I saw a build on this model on utube , by the midwest model shop , he did a brilliant job too . he put it below the grey , it just didn't look right . is this correct . any thoughts would be appreciated . Knb.1451
So the black line you're referring to is called the Boot Topping, it does sit between the red anti-fouling paint, and camouflage from the water line up.
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Steve, don't take my word as Gospel but I think it (boot topping) goes from the waterline upwards too. So it will reduce the amount of upper hull grey, not the underwater hull red. HTH. Regards, Jeff.

armored76
Superb looking little boats! Especially the lower left ones. Was there any extra detailing or carving needed to achieve this look?
steve5
thanks armored76 , there is a little bit of PE on them , but I found some 1/350 railing in my spares box , so I cut it up and added to the boats .

FlyingSpanner
I’m not sure I would have the patience for such tiny delicate brass work, well done! They look to be paravanes, like an underwater kite towed from the bow used to defeat mines.
