Modern Ethiopean Air Force roundels

Hi everyone, I've decided to build an Ethiopean Air Force Su-27, but I'm having trouble with the roundels. I wanted to build Su-27 #1953, and when I ordered my decals (Hi-Decal 72-050), I ended up getting an updated set. What I thought I was getting for roundels was...

....which you combine the two to form the roundel, but what I ended up getting was...

I know Hi-Decal is pretty good on their research, but I've not had much luck finding this roundel on an actual ETAF Su-27, even on Google. Can anyone verify that this roundel is correct? Thank you.

What do you expect from a man who puts Father Ted above

My Hero 🙂

Thanks for the info!

Just remember,

This one is small.

But these ones are far away.

Ted, you know how your eyes are always playing tricks on you?

Whoa, that one in the background has a splinter scheme?!

Supertom, did you find the correct roundels in the end? I am planning an ETAF Flanker myself (saw them in a flypast in 2019 during their Armed Forces Day) so have an interest in this, as well as in any WIP reports/tips you would be willing to share

Cheers,

Robert

These are the correct current markings used on EtAF Su-27:

Hi-Decal HD48022 & HD72050

Element A - (two of these are applied on the fin only, so you get markings for two airframes)

#1953 has been credited with a MiG-29 shot down during the war with Eritrea in 2000.

you also get markings for two Eritrean Flankers ( 608 & 609 ) with splinter scheme and fake canopies, two Angolan Su-27 ( C110 ) and 27UB ( I100 )  in different jungle camos and an Indonesian Su-27SK ( TS-2701 )  in grey pattern.
