John R
A difficult day with the weather. Occasional flashes of sunlight but mostly grey. For me it was made more difficult by having a new camera which seemed determined to underexpose and also being allocated a parking space close to a belt of trees which blocked the view of oncoming a/c. I hope these look OK as many had to be 'rescued' by Photoshop. 'NHS' Spitfire Westland Lysander Polikarpov Po 2 Provost Parnall Elf Eon Primary Glider Miles Magister DE Havilland DH 60 Moth. John R
That Comet is the real thing. It's the one that won the MacRobertson air race to Australia back in 1934. It had a somewhat chequered history before ending up as part of the Shuttleworth Collection. It was restored and flew again but the u/c collapsed on its first flight. It was then 'down' for a few years whilst that was sorted out. It now flies regularly at Old Warden. Wikipedia has more details. John

triumphfan
Lovely photos, thanks for sharing. I loved the flying wing display as he came down in a series of loops, very effective with the smoke on! A well organised event and it just goes to show what can be done in these strange times. Atb, Steve.
Jonny
Thanks for sharing your photos, John ... I've never seen the Fauvel AV36 before, is it a Shuttleworth aeroplane, or just based there, or was it even visiting 'just for the day'? Good photos too, by the way!! alt-92
The Camel is a very evocative shot. And the DH 60 is just perfect so too the Comet. Nice work despite not-ideal conditions.
