PattheCat
Hello everybody. I'm about to paint a 1/72 Eduard F6-f3 Hellcat in the "classical" tricolor scheme (white undersurfaces, sides in intermediate blue, Navy blue for wings and upper fuselage) and would like to use it for my first try at panel line enhancement. It's a newly delivered machine so no weathering intended. I'm asking myself - considering the extreme difference between upper and lower colour - which hue i'd best use for the wash/pinwash. Or should I apply different tints for the lower and upper surfaces? Thanks a lot.
Mark Harmsworth
With those colours I would probably use a light grey. I use oils so, for me, that would be 'Payne's Gray'. Mark

What about a light gray for the underside and a "neutral" grey for the top? 1 hour ago, Mark Harmsworth said: With those colours I would probably use a light grey. Mark Excuse me, I'm somewhat colour blind (quite hampering for the hobby), but isn't Payne's grey more of a mid/neutral grey?,
