gmoss
Hi all Here is Tamiya's 1/48 Pather Ausf D, which I have depicted in a worn, winter whitewash camo. It was originally painted in dark yellow and green camo prior to the white wash. It's painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with oil paints and pigments. This is my second 1/48 scale WW2 armour build - I wanted to test my skills and some new techniques prior to moving up to 1/35. Constructive criticism is most welcome. Thanks for looking. Brandon The Tanker
This looks really good, are you thinking of putting this in a diorama?
Stef N.
Having tried whitewash I know how hard it can be to get right. But this, like your Tiger, is really well done. Top job.👏
gmoss
Thanks guys I'm in the process of making a small, simple base for it.

M3talpig
Very nicely done......winter white wash on armour is probably one of the hardest subjects to get right in modeling..... you did a great job with this.

After spraying with dark yellow and dark green acrylics, I applied two light coats of hairspray followed by a very thin coat of white acrylic (about 30/70 paint to thinner) which, after drying, I removed (chipped) with a clean, wet brush. I watched a few tutorials on this method on Youtube. Edited July 22, 2020 by gmoss error

Thx Sorry - I meant to say 'dark yellow and dark green' - not 'German grey' (that's how I did my Tiger). On 7/21/2020 at 9:57 PM, Nick Charnock said: Great job, really like the weathering and finish. Nenad Ilijic
I was always afraid of the white winter camo, never tried to make it and seems to me it's really hard to make it look right. You managed to do it very well. Great job! Nenad
