How hard can it be?

I foresee some swearing directed at the etched metal nose intake grill

Oh nice! I've been sorely tempted by this!

Looks like PE rotor blades. I built Attack Squadron's (now Brengun's) 1/48 MQ-8B, and the rotors have sagged notably.

I have made a start on this. Having never made a complete resin kit before I decided I needed some helpers

CCA336E0-3C30-4B73-8F79-8F50F6155FBF

The self proclaimed Resin King @trickyrich on the right of the photo was no help at all, but my good modelling buddy @nimrod54 on the left very kindly said I could borrow his special modelling specs.

For a 1/48 scale kit this badger is tiny.

Good luck with your build H. It should be a nice looking model when finished and it will be something different in the display cabinet. Oh! Could you be quick with my glasses, you're holding up progress on my Buccaneer build.

OH MY GOD!!!! :yikes:

he's actually going to build a model and a resin one no less!!! :frantic:

I thought @Hockeyboy76 just hung around practising his comedy routine........though trust me he needs ALOT of practise!!

Plus I though you were building a shark when I first saw that picture, definitely an interesting wee model (it must be tiny), and looks to be nicely moulded as well.

Gioid luck e=with it....plus we need to start a sweep to see how long it takes you to glue your fingers together with CA glue!  :D

Looking good mate. Are you still able to separate your fingers? :giggle:

Oh yes, very careful with the superglue this evening.

A tiny Austrian in Australia....

Looks nice and different! Most are white...

Thanks dude. Sorry to disappoint, this one will be white and red. There are decal options for gloss black, gloss blue, grey or red and white.

Cheers Glynn, I do like going outside of the box every now and again, mostly into an egg box it must be said!

gosh she is tiny, and nice work on the PE!

Nice one Rich, once I worked out a system for the PE it went well, although after staring that hard to see, I tripped over the arm chair in my cross eyed state on the way out of the cave :hypnotised:  I almost bought the 1/72 scale.

And it was all going so well until I got to the rotor head

ACEE06E8-BAF5-4C5C-92E0-138F69D1E51C

The bar in the middle should be attached to the crown below it, but the resin is so soft it split. Also to attach the PE blades you need to cut a slit into the bar ends for the blade to go into. The funny little triangle ish part in a square all by itself should be on the bar, but that came off when cutting the slit into the bar.

:angry: so that’s that bit  then.

Right, time for plan B

8A36C596-469D-488E-963C-5B694B685D48

some spare tube plasticard,  cut it to the same length as the bar, slots made in the end using a razor saw instead of a blade and the PE blades glued in. Happy with that, now how to fit it to the crown shaped gubbins?

What would the King of 144 @nimrod54do In this case?

Lets get out the brass rod

75B46A9F-9DE7-4AA1-BC72-2E3E1BB7DCC0

some micro drilling at 0.4mm and I now have a strong join.

Luckily I didn’t  up the tail rotor.  All ready to be primed.

I would probably have given it a test flight down to the bottom of the garden. You resolved that little issue nicely matey, and the whole thing is looking good. Soon be ready for paint.

That's looking great buddy. I feel like I have missed a stage though, I can't see any pink primer.

Cheers dude.

In the frustration and then elation of the rotor head saga,  I forgot  to photo the most important part, although I believe the message in the power of primer of pink is spreading like wildfire among the Britmodeller massive.

Well done buddy, that's a fantastic little model. Looks brilliant.

Thanks dude. I forgot to add the lower aerials.

Just so you can see how big it really is
