I'm happy to see you both !!

Yesterday, I get to the Zoo, but a special one...

Animals are shown in a context...

Sooo...

I wait for a while, but NO !! I mean no one Huey showed her nose...

IMG_20200829_133019

Col Kilgore was surely busy elsewhere...

Then I see her...

IMG_20200829_150003

There was also an Hyena, strolling around the derelict of a british registered aircraft...

Not reassuring indeed...

But...

Sincerely.

CC

Here are the pics from the friend of my son...

It's not reassuring about the passenger ? is'nt it ??

Hello Dears,

Still waiting for my Alley cat order to arrive...

Now with these pics, I still have some work to do...

English_Electric_Canberra_TT.18_WJ574_REngineFront_TICO_16March2014_(14665273392)

Now, finding an equivalent pic of the B-57G

English_Electric_Canberra_TT.18_WJ574_LNose_TICO_16March2014_(14479003678)

Seeing the hole in the cutting edge, I suppose that the 20mm guns are in between the the fuselage and the engine nacelle ??

More researches ahead... methink !!

Sincerely.

Hello Dears,

I'm a bit mitigated...

Some sources state that the 20mm guns have been deleted on the B-57G

in ofder to save weight... But on the other hand, the 20mm guns were judged effective for that same B-57G.... ???:hmmm:

Now I see and have the 20mm gun pack for the british version, but there is no trace of such a pack on the B-57...

I don't like to disturb but I think that I'll need @canberra kid once again...

Where were the 20 mm guns on the Canberra ??

Wing mounted surely but I did'nt find the place neither did i found the ejector slots ???

If anyone can help ...

Sincerely.

Hi CC If you take a look at my G build you will see where the gun doors are positioned on the wings top and underside, all the G models had the x4 20mm canon wing.

Not too bad a life for an aircraft derelict...

Glad that nobodies has been maimed in the crash.

I like this starting, it will please Greta Von Stolenfuture...

Canberra 2

Canberra is a nice aircraft but now... When one try to classify her...

Every A/C is a version in itself, Here we have 3 ejection points for the starter...

On this one seemingly, there are 2

English_Electric_Canberra_TT.18_WJ574_REngineFront_TICO_16March2014_(14665273392)

Now, the ones who have only one ejection point ??

Only one pipe from the axle or two ??

I dig may be too much but I like to know how things are working...:hmmm:

Sincerely.

The top photo of WT333 is a B.6 hybrid with Avon 109's this is a triple branch starter,  it has three gas vents positioned at approximately 10,2,&6 o'clock position. The second photo is TT.18 with Avon1 this is a single breach starter with two gas vents at approximately 9&3 o'clock position. The B.57 had the J.65 (AS. Sapphire) with a single branch cartridge starter, with just one gaa vent at approximately 9 o'clock.

Are you sure that's not a horses willie Nicholas has there? He seems to be looking at it very suspiciously. I am given to understand that English coffee bars did a roaring trade selling them to exiled French aristocrats during the French Revolution and apparently Baldrick does a roaring trade passing them off as French saussicon sec to members of the Imperial General Staff.

True, but I suppose Starter Cartridges are getting as rare as hens teeth...

I believe most of the airworthy Hunters have been converted to electric start now, because of this.

Thank god for the Comet!

Odd thought of the day. I joined the RAF in 1976. In those days in the barrack blocks there was a shortage of rubber plugs for the baths.

Starter cartridges came in a cardboard tube with a rubber disk as a seal. So we used them instead!

Can I just caution against too much reference to rubber. Who knows? @general melchett may be reading this and we all know how overexcited he can get. Remember the rumpus caused by the fake daffodils, the reimental tutu, the tickling stick and the gimp mask at the last Much-Snivelling-in-the-Swamp Mayday fete?
