keithjs
I'm led to believe that some SAAF Hurricane IIc's were only fitted with the inboard cannons? If so, would the bulges still be on the gun panels on top of the wings and the ejector ports underneath filled in (or plated over?) I can find a photo of Bob Finney's HL885 AX Z but you can only see the cannon and not the wings. Any help gratefully received. Thank you.
Graham Boak
It is a lot easier to remove a cannon than fabricate a new panel. It was quite common in the Western Desert, but I don't know of any photos showing the top of the wing on any of these aircraft.
dogsbody
I would guess that the bulges on the gun cover would remain, as you'd have to rework the metal to remove. The shell ejection ports on the underside were most likely covered with a fabric patch. Chris
