tonyot
The old Frog kit isn`t too bad,....... you can get a vacuformed canopy etc for it too from Falcon,...... if you can find this set, it is seen here at Hannants but it is out of stock; https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/FNCV3072?result-token=ZjcIr

Harry_the_Spider
Update: The Eastern Express version turned up yesterday costing "not very much" from eBay. Going to do it like a 69 Squadron Malta version as flown by Adrian Warburton. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Warburton

Thanks for sharing his story/ Mike You should read one of Tony Spooner's books on Warburton to get a true appreciation of the man. Also, Special Hobby released a 48th scale kit of the Maryland which includes markings for two of the aircraft that Warburton flew: https://modelingmadness.com/scott/allies/previews/specialhobby-mpm/sh48077.htm I have this kit in my stash. From vague memory of reading a couple of builds of it, it's not an easy model to put together. Cheers, Mark
MACALAIN
Already made, 2 Frog models one with former French AF camouflage, the second in DG, DE, sky camouflage. The decals are from Plastic Planet decal 72001. Warburton flew also PR Beaufighter and Spitfire and perhaps other type of aircraft during his Malta time. Dunny
I recently build the Special Hobby version, which is sub-titled 'Warburton's War". Here's the WIP if you're interested: Although the kit has challenging elements it builds into a good looking model - I would recommend it. dalea
While on the subject of the Plastic Planet decals. can any one confirm the accuracy of the colour scheme of Warburton's aircraft as they show them?

28ZComeback
Didn’t he fly through Taranto harbor at mast-height to photograph Italian battleships? Has to be one of the bravest aviators of all time.
Harry_the_Spider
He did. Came back with a bit of battleship rigging wrapped round his tail wheel.
