Robert
Hello, my father-in-law was in a reserved occupation at the beginning of WW2 but towards the end he was able to sign up and went to Canada for his training then came back to England. He liked taking photos so here is a selection of the photos that were taken there. The last photo I do not know which aicraft it is so if you recognise it please let me know. He also took a few photos of crash landings, mainly Tiger Moths which I have decided not to post. Paul J
Nice collection. Not really sure how the UK Tiger Moths coded 'RCV-' fit in. They look like RAF reserve ones, no covered cockpits like the Canadian Tigers.
Red Dot
The last one is a PT-27 Kaydet. Lovely clear pictures Andy
busnproplinerfan
Where was he stationed? BLV, the Barkley-Growl is now at the Alberta aviation museum. They were nicknamed the bark and growl. Someone on here made a nice model of one.
Robert
Paul - I was not sure about the Tiger Moths as my father-in-law did not label the back of the photos so assumed they were from Canada. Checked again and the Tiger Moths are when he was at Rochester, Kent. Andy - Thanks for the info Busnproplinerfan - He was at Carberry Manitoba and Saskatoon. busnproplinerfan
Figured it was somewhere in Manitoba, mind you all the prairie airfields looked similar, flat. Been near there but never stopped in. It’s now the McCain’s patato plant.
