Italeri Mania, it's WAH-64 and AW-101 time's up

  • 2 weeks later...

Trying out the rotors and replaced starboard bubble

Still milliards of antenna-greeblies going on but also rotor blade painting is on.

It is more complicated than the FAA Merlin scheme and will take a while longer.

Much to do...

Upper door to remake, just so I can find the original.

Thank you gentles all

I am not happy with the white but it is what it is, if I had found another on the web last week I would be redoing from start but this week I hate it less so it stays in play although there is much to do to tidy it proper like.

Looks very good to me Bill, but then I didn’t have any of the frustrations building it!

I know how you feel matey but it’s still a lovely model. :)

Cheers Chris I am hoping to have a nice looking helicopter at the end of  this 'journey'

In the pursuit of that end I had my recently ordered yellow 'decal sheet' order in from Big H and have decided to try using it instead of layers of oddball yellow paint on the rotor tips

Here we are on top

And here underneath

I always 'have a 'mare' with painting yellow and the rotor tips are guaranteed to catch the eye and usually look grim if I use paint so this had to be a worthwhile experiment.

Did it succeed?

YOU are the beholders, whassay?

The metal leading edges (of very weird oddball shapes) will be re-touched in later, they aren't staying raggedy.

:)

I've only got and done it.....

Pushed the button on another one 😣

I think my new one will be a Cormorant, or maybe Portuguese.

Unsurity rules...
