Airfix F16-B 1/72 Venezuelan camo

Recommended Posts

I had this knocking around and decided to put it together since I'm still on ferlough. It's just the standard kit, nothing really special. So I decided to make something of it by trying the Venezuelan camo.

First problem was a huge gap, sanded, filled, sanded.

I'll add the loops on the top of the bang seats at a later date.

Gave it a going over with some matte cote. I'll leave it to cure overnight before I attempt the deck tan beige colour.

Sorry that was a long post.

Just an FYI, the F-16 uses the ACES II ejection seat, which has no pull handles on the headrest (just a single one between the legs).  You might add that handle or the pair of pitots that angle out from the sides of the headrest on the ACES iI, but in this scale I think what you have already is fine.

Aces II Reference

Nice to see someone breaking out the Airfix kit, an MPC was one of my first F-16s but with all the Hasegawa and new-tool Revells out there you rarely see these anymore.

I had forgotten about this build. So with today's hot weather I sat indoors in the cool and started the next steps.

Will paint up the landing gears and wheels tomorrow. Will have to dig around in the decal spares to see if I can find something useful.

Should get this build done by tomorrow so it will probably go straight to RFI

Thanks for looking

Searched through the spare decals and I can't find anything to go with it. I 'could' make some stencils, but I really can't be bothered. I think ill just use a tail number for a different aircraft 🤯
