Courageous
With the Vickers Mk VI Light Tank on the slow as it awaits tracks and foil, a request has been asked to do a '432', so here it is. As the title says, this is to model an FV432 Mk 2/1 using the S&M Models kit that I acquired during lockdown. Let's start with the basics: Nice sturdy box. Sprue A Sprue B Sprue C All very nicely formed, nice detail with no flash, looking very good. Instruction sheet. Decals for 3 options. PE sheet. Clear parts. All-in-all looks very nice. May try and opening the rear door and hint at some interior, we'll see. Stuart

Courageous
With the Vickers VI Light Tank on hold due to await parts, it's time to start on this sucker. Skipped stage I as it was wheels, later. Here are the hull parts for stage II, nice and crisp with no flash. Downloaded this image from https://www.zonerama.com/BAORphotoalbum/761317 With the hatches and doors set above, I have to decide what needs opening and will most probably be the main rear door and the commanders hatch, I'll leave the other bits for another day. Will need to try and find some modern British infantry too. Also from the same site: this useful pic will be helping me out for the main compartment. Their is a pic for the drivers position but...no. Dads203
This might help you out with the inners for your build, some pictures of the drivers compartment. I'll have to check my photo's to see if have any that might be useful.
Alpha Juliet
Looking forward to this one - I have a 1/35 scale on to do and your research saves me a job!
Courageous
Thanks for the link @Dads203. Just spent a good while going through your build, impressive stuff...is it finished? I must remind you that this '432' is in 1/72 and will be more about the 'look' as opposed to accuracy. Feel free to chip in with staff, i'm sure 'll be asking. 5 minutes ago, Alpha Juliet said: your research saves me a job my research is nothing compared to other guys on here but thanks anyway. Courageous
A gentle start... Floor, sides and the front cemented together and the main bulkhead positioned marked thus. Gaps are evident where the sides meet the floor, soon sorted with some PPP. In this scale, I'll be concentrating on the big lumps in the main compartment; internal fire extinguisher system, NBC system, seats, etc. If/when I remove the commanders hatch I'll decide what to do inside but seeing that I'm going to stuff a commander in his hole, there may not be much to see. Back door will be hacked out of the rear section. Stuart
Courageous
Another step forward. The bulkhead was a little fiddly to produce as I was only working from photos but here it is fitted. Stuart
Courageous
More inside work Don't know what's inside those box sections but they're on everything I've looked at. Stuart
Dads203
Fuel tanks mate, you won’t get far in a 432 without them, 1.5 MPG cross country

badger
Hi Stuart Just ordered the Chieftain set myself as seen a couple of good builds and they look nice kits. If you want some suitable figures can I recommend Elheim Figures https://www.elhiem.co.uk/ourshop/cat_817076-NATO-British-BAOR.html Does quite a nice range of BAOR period British troops. All the best Ben PS - let me know if you need those Mk VI tracks at all .

They look good and a selection figs are on order. 48 minutes ago, badger said: Mk VI tracks Thanks for reminding me. Looks like they've taken payment for the tracks, so hopefully soon. A little bit here and there in the back. Not sure exactly what all those panels are; insulation, padding? Also started work on the NBC unit. Dads203
The padding Stuart is spall lining, just upholstery foam with a thick vinyl cover. Not sure how effective It would of been its the hull had been breached by a projectile?

I must admit the twin Chieftains are very tempting, but I'm staying over in the watery section for my builds at the moment (apart from a 1/72 Scimitar and Mark VI) Nice start on the FV432.
