TonyOD
Hi all, For my upcoming first crack at a group build I'm thinking of doing a two-plane wheels-up aerial diorama (flyorama)? The encounter in question takes place of the Mediterranean. Can anyone put me onto a source of convincing looking sea? Thanks
Richard E
One of Coastal Kits display bases might be suitable or you might be able to build your own base: @beefy66's USS Fletcher build includes a very good guide describing how to create a seascape from scratch.

Many thanks, I'll give it a look.
Bandsaw Steve
I would suggest typing the word ‘seascape’ into Britmodeller’s search tool. There’s a wealth of discussion on this very topic. Also google ‘Chris Flodberg’ He’s the guru on this stuff.
Robert Stuart
Check out the ship modelling forums, places like Steel Navy where the modellers have to deal with sea a lot of the time. Or here: http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=155661 Think about scale - a lot of good ship models are made 1/350 and the ship is in the water. If your aircraft are flying at altitude, then scale height will be impractical, and you'll need to make your waves smaller (perspective reduces the size of distant objects). Blowing my own trumpet here, but ... This was made with acrylic paint and media over expanded polystyrene
