gibbo99
Decided to try out a spray can of primer, rather than using a brush - forgot how much that stuff stinks lol Wasn't impressed with it at all tbh. Was more than likely me, but seemed very runny. As it's drying though it seems to be ok. Any tips on using this stuff appreciated
Pete in Lincs
I use Hycote acrylic primer. White or grey. Bought from the bay it's a reasonable price and I haven't had any problems with it. Spray a thin coat from at least 6 to 9 inches away. Clean the model first though, a damp cloth would do on a U boat.

First attempt at using an airbrush (so will probably go wrong) A little too much here I think Will see what it dries like - worse case I start over lol

gibbo99
I think that worked out a lot better... All masts, fore and after planes and prop all on now and a couple of coats of matt.. Edited July 10, 2020 by gibbo99
gibbo99
Decals on. I know its not the proper layout for the fin (i.e. yellow training cross and U number, but I think it looks ok). Tried to get the nav lights but paint kept running
Courageous
Too late now but I use Halfords Auto Primer in grey, then give it a very light sanding before proper paint goes on. Stuart

Stuart Cheers. I might give that one a try once my local store opens up again. Got a feeling it may be staying shut though
