ivan-o
Hi guys, after my stolly adventure back to the plastic! Tamiya Chally 1 mostly OOB with a few mods. Here we go, a bit of track bashing to start. basic hull done with anti slip added, most of the extra work will be on the turret. cheers Ivan
Jasper dog
Hi Ivan, nice to see this pop up, I'll be following along with interest. Fruils to! Nice job on the antislip too btw. Cheers Darryl
ivan-o
Thanks Darryl, the tracks came with model as I got it off the web else I probably wouldn’t have bothered. Bit of a Blue Peter here’s one a done earlier here 😀 Font of the turret done, the strengthening looks a bit out of scale compared to the real thing but it is what it is 😉 Tie downs are 0.4 wire. ivan-o
More turret work, rear bin has been modified from the kit bin. Both original curves were removed and new ones put in,the lid was turned back to front, new grill put in and the hinges and lifting handles are to follow. That’s me all caught up now no more Blue Peter moments 😀 Cheers, Ivan

After having a conflab with Darryl about the anti slip and rear bin on his build I decided to have go at conversion rather than scratch one like Darryl (good job by the way). Jasper dog
Looking good Ivan, as soon as I can clear a couple of "nearly finished" builds off the bench I can get back to it. Experimenting with sprinkling the fine pummice powder onto the wet aerosol primer, the spare bit I tried it on seamed to come out ok. Alpha Juliet
Stupid question, but what wire are you using for the grab handles?
ivan-o
Nice one Darryl 👍 AJ i got some spools of wire off the interweb,0.3,0.4 and 0.5 were the sizes I went for I used 0.4 for the tie downs and 0.5 for the handles. Might well have used the 0.3 for the tie downs but the bit woundt hold in my drill 😟 HTH, Ivan

(At least that was the number when I bought them). Darryl 1
Ron NL-S
Nice work, indeed. As this one is on my list I will sit and pay attention. Oh, quick question; the modifications on the bin, are those specific for a certain version or is the Tamiya kit wrong? Edited July 12, 2020 by Ron NL-S additional question 1

Hi Ron, The rear turret bin on the kit is apparently correct for the first batch of tanks, the majority however had the square bin. Up to you If you want to change it or not. 😀 Ivan
Bullbasket
Nice work on the turret bin. I didn't realise that they had changed the configuration of it. John.
