stevej60
Hi folk's the much maligned Airfix Battle due to the wrong drawings being sent to Airfix about sixty years ago! A Bilek bagging for the Kit you built as a kid GB I reckon I built one nearly fifty years ago! Many thanks for looking. 39

TheyJammedKenny!
Wow! First rate results on a crude kit--your work really hides the problems you no doubt encountered along the way. It's a real tribute to a doomed weapons system of ages passed.

SAT69
I don't know anything about the Battle so I wouldn't know enough to be critical. What I do know is your model is very well built. Congratulations.
Buzby061
I think you can add turd polisher to your CV. Pete 1
RichieW
Great build of this ancient kit. The one I made nearly half a century ago didn't seem to come out quite as good as this! 😂

stevehnz
Lovely job on that Steve. It still looks a lot like a Battle. I'd be interested to know what the reactions were to it when it first came out, a lot more muted that in todays connected world, but I'm guessing there were mutterings at modeling clubs & in magazines. Steve.

Vinnie
Well, you really battered that one into submission. Nicely finished, Steve.
Mig88
Nicely done indeed! I built this kit (in an Airfix boxing) around 40 years ago! I honestly don't know what the flaws were but I recall it was a decent kit in its time in terms of detail and buildability. Miguel

Steve. Ian Huntley was definately moaning about it in SAM magazine 40 years ago. Strange that after all that time we still have only one better (and chronically unavailable) option! Excellent build though! I do like the crisp demarcation on the landing lights.
Maxidad
Beautiful build for such an old kit. Why did they paint the bombs yellow? Never seen that before.

Standard colour until replaced by green later in the war. Think it was actually a sandy buff colour in reality. Nice Battle Steve. I've never built one. I'm waiting for the new tool kit that's in the Airfix pipeline. I hope....

IanC
It has to happen eventually. They've done the Blenheim, Whitley and Wellington. Just leaves the Battle and Hampden. And then the Stirling... And then.... oh dear, here we go. 🙂
DaveyGair
Nice job on this one Steve. I might do an Airfix/MPM Battle duel build, correcting the major points on the Airfix one along the way. The MPM kit is much better but still not the 'be all, end all' of Battle's, so we need Airfix to re-tool this one like they did the Defiant, which surely is just in the same marketing bracket as the Battle would be?
