Bo105 Air Ambulance MARKINGS question

Recommended Posts

A curious 'colonial's' question for UK rortorheads:

I've found myself much-taken with the striking Scottish Charities livery for the old Bo105C air ambulances, and am contemplating trying to whip up my own inkjet-printed markings for the A-Model 1/72 kit.

In a by-no-means-comprehensive search, I've found (1) off-angle photo of the real aircraft -- and several of a manufacturer's wooden display model -- showing what looks like a 'gear wheel' logo at the base of the boom. [The model shows it both port and starboard; the 'real' photo shows only the stbd. side.]

Due to is rarity in photos, it may well be a short-lived or discontinued marking. I can't find a clear photo, but it seems to be lacking the traditional trappings of any kind of government or local-council administrative insignia...and the SCAA logo is prominently displayed elsewhere...so I was wondering if some keen eye might recognize what may well be a common marking on 'your side of the pond.'

The marking in question:

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
