Retired Bob
I thought they had dropped the symbol at the end of WW2 when the aircraft markings changed to a blue and white roundel.

Blimpyboy
Heh! The lines between history, tradition, coincidence and what’s inappropriate can be very fine ones! I seem to recall quite a few unit patches from the 1960s to the 1980s that would raise eyebrows today! Edited July 2, 2020 by Blimpyboy

Blimpyboy
Seriously off topic, but here goes... As far as I can recall, there’s always been a bit of a friendly bunfight between Australia and South Africa as to which country has the second oldest Air Force (both dating from 1920/1921, I believe). What’s the go with Finland, as theirs seems to have been formed in 1918? 🤔 💣 Edited July 1, 2020 by Blimpyboy
