longshanks
I've been working on the radar tower and I'm well pleased with the results. I started with some trepidation as there was two spiders webs to be formed into an octagonal shape. e.g. To my surprise my cunning plan worked using 45' template to get the correct bend et voila Tower not fixed yet I'm calling that a result Thanks for stopping by Stay safe Kev

longshanks
Turn of the lifeboats today. Following on the Big Boys approach I represented the clinker planks with 1mm wide masking tape. Just overlaped at the widest part to all most full lap at the ends Given a coat of varnish and then the ends were trimmed Pontos measurements some what amiss. The benches are 3mm short So I added plastic card to the stern thwart Et voila Not perfect but I'd cross the channel in it........ Thanks for looking in Stay safe Kev 22

JohnWS
Still looking good, Kev. Good comeback on filling in the space left by the PE. 1 hour ago, longshanks said: ... Pontos measurements some what amiss. The benches are 3mm short ... I've said it before, I wonder if some of the suppliers actually assemble (test fit) their parts before they're released? 1 hour ago, longshanks said: ... Dads203
Nice save on the PE Kev , I’m a bit shocked that they missed that by a country mile though, it’s not even close.

Steve D
Just catching up on this Kev, some very nice details going on, the lifeboat is a gem.. I have a Flower in mind at some point, but at 1:48th is will be big so negotiations required at home before I get started ("and where is that one going...." etc). Interested to see how this turns out and watch you weather it Steve 1
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Kev, great work/save/mods to the life-boats. And I agree with Flyingspanner, that's a neat trick with the masking tape. Regards, Jeff.

longshanks
Continued work on the base.... Acrylic gel slapped on the lumps will be formed into the larger waqves 8-10 colours/shades and I'm happy with the base colour and the lifeboats in their natural enviroment I have now slapped a further coat of transparent acrylic gel over the whole. I can then begin to further enhance the colours, spray/foam and waves ..... I hope you like it Stay safe Kev

Terry1954
Impressive work on the seascape there Kev. I'm studying such things carefully, as I've still not decided whether the Vosper will appear in or out of it's natural element. Time's on my side for that particular decision though ............. 🤣 Oh and I wasn't going to mention the slippers but since Stuart already has I'm wondering if they represent a particular clan ............. ?
